127 HOURS Starring.. Brian Austin Green?!

There’s no doubt that James Franco will get a nomination for his terrific performance in Danny Boyle‘s 127 Hours based on the experience of climber Aron Ralston who had to cut off his arm to escape the boulder he was trapped under. If Franco’s name is not mentioned this January 25th when the nominees are announced, I’d be insanely surprised. But what if Franco wasn’t the star of 127 Hours and Boyle wasn’t the director either? What if those two jobs had gone to the boys of the old series Beverly Hills 90210, Brian Austin Green and Luke Perry respectively? Would their version of the film have been just as extraordinary? Via omgyahoo, Perry told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Friday’s Access Hollywood Live that the film 127 Hours was almost his to make..

“This movie that was made just recently — Danny Boyle film with James Franco about, the story of Aron Rolston — ’127 Hours’ — I tried to acquire the rights to the story and do it with Brian [Austin] Green,”
“Brian’s a great actor,”
“I thought he ‘d be great in that part, but Danny Boyle, he got it… Brian’s a great actor and I always wanted to find something to do with him.”

I’ve seen Green’s acting in 90210, Sarah Connor chronicles and the current Desperate Housewives and I gotta say, I wish I hadn’t seen Green’s acting in all of those. Comparing him to Franco and calling Green ‘a great actor’ is quite laughable. I’m sure Perry just wants to compliment his best friend but let’s not get carried away here.
127 Hours under the direction of Perry, starring Green would’ve been a terrible straight-to-DVD film and the word ‘Oscar’ would not have been written all over it.
That said, I’d have to compliment Green for successfully getting Megan Fox.

  1. I thought you were introducing a Funny or Die mash up. BAG is comparable to James Franco? Maybe in bizarro world. The same with Luke Perry and Danny Boyle.
