67th Annual GOLDEN GLOBES Nominees
December 15, 2009RamaNo CommentsGolden Globes
The nominees for the 67th Annual Golden Globe awards were announced this morning and there’s fierce competition in the Best Picture Drama category but my money is on UP IN THE AIR. I’m glad that Sandra Bullock gets 2 nods but I think she’ll lose the Best actress drama to Carey Mulligan but Bullock might have a shot with comedy. This is a good sign too because her performance in The Blind Side is not overlooked, let’s see if Oscars can at least give similar recognition. I gotta go with Quentin Tarantino for Best Screenplay, it’s hard to ignore how great the dialogue was in BASTERDS. I think Michael Stuhlbarg should’ve been nominated under Drama instead of Comedy and Pixar’s UP should’ve been included in Best Picture Drama instead of just Best Animated.
And as far as I enjoyed 500 DAYS OF SUMMER, I think THE HANGOVER should get the honor for Best Picture Comedy. Too bad Golden Globes doesn’t have anything for Visual Effects because AVATAR could easily snatch it, but James Horner might receive one for Original Score, however, no offense to the great Horner, Karen O’s music for WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE is everyone’s favorite this year. Check out the list of nominees for movies only and my choices for the winners after this jump…
