7 Action Stars That I Think Should Be In THE EXPENDABLES Sequel

Sylvester Stallone and producer Avi Lerner have already promised us the fans that if The Expendables did well at the box office, THE EXPENDABLES 2 would be greenlit, no doubt. This is Sly’s new franchise after leaving Rocky and Rambo behind him. So, I’ve collected 7 names that I think Sly should cast in the sequel. Feel free to suggest more in the comment section..

JEAN CLAUDE VAN DAMME

Sylvester Stallone offered a role in The Expendables to Jean Claude Van Damme but Van Damme was too proud to accept it, asking for more substance to his character. In a recent vibrant video, Sly told a reporter that now JCVD wishes he was in The Expendables with all the other action stars just kickin’ ass left and right. It’s not too late for redemption, JCVD could be in the sequel and I think he’d be really great as the main bad guy, a fight between him and Sly to the death on the screen will be the stuff of which history is made.

STEVEN SEAGAL

Seagal’s got a role in the upcoming Robert Rodriguez-directed MACHETE and if the trailer suggests anything is that this practicing Buddhist is still cool with killing people using sharp blades.. Rourke and Statham’s characters already good at that particular skill but they wouldn’t mind the extra help.

CHUCK NORRIS

Ah yes, the all American hero, Chuck freakin’ Norris. When he does push-ups, he’s not pushing himself up, he’s pushing the earth down.
Sorry, had to do a Chuck Norris joke there for a second, just had to.
He would make a great addition. Maybe he could be the man who hires Sly’s team but unlike Bruce, Chuck eventually finds himself in the middle of the fight as well. We sit back and enjoy.

BILLY BLANKS

I grew up watching a lot of action flicks, some were B-list straight to home video type and some of them starred Mr. Tae-Bo, Billy Blanks.
No more will his kicks and punches be wasted on just getting you in shape. Sly needs to recruit him, Billy needs to be hardcore again!

MICHELLE YEOH

I know, The Expendables is supposed to be a sausage fest. Yeoh may not need to be part of the team but she could certainly be in the movie. Before Tomorrow Never Dies and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Yeoh was an action star in Hong Kong cinema in the 80s. Last time I checked, 80s style action flick is what Sly intended The Expendables to be right?

CUNG LE

Now, I’m adding Cung Le’s name to the list because Sly recruited Terry Crews and Randy Coutoue in the first movie and both of those weren’t 80s action stars. Le did an ok job in Pandorum but sadly the movie didn’t allow him to showcase what he’s got a potential action star. He could play JCVD’s right hand man in his evil empire

DWAYNE JOHNSON

Whatever gets Johnson as far away possible from those Disney family flicks. He’s finding his way back to action genre through the upcoming movie FASTER, so let’s keep the momentum going and have him be part of the Expendables sequel.

  1. Like Seagal, Van Damm, Norris, and Johnson… but not the other three.

I would also consider bringing back Arnold and Willis and give them a bigger role. Arnold should be out of politics in California by then and his character is still in business according to the movie. He and Sly’s characters were both highly recommended for the job and Arnold’s character practically gave the gig to Sly’s character by walking away. Why not bring him back with a team that would compete against Sly’s team. And Willis’ character isn’t above getting a little dirty himself. Remember when he threatened Sly: “If you screw this up, me and my people will get a hold of you and your people, and (place expletives here) you up”. I would love to see Sly, Arnold, and Willis in action in the same movie. Now THAT is a site to see.

  2. I think Scott Adkins and Mark Dacascos should also get a part in the Expendables 2. This will definetly push the action to a new level.
