A COUPLE OF DICKS Gets A New Secret Title

The recent WB’s 2010 preview gave us first look at Kevin Smith‘s new movie A COUPLE OF DICKS, starring Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis as about two veteran LAPD detectives who attempt to track down a stolen, mint-condition, 1952 baseball card while getting mixed up in some gangster trouble and trying to rescue a Mexican beauty who holds the key to millions in laundered drug money. After long disagreements over DICKS, the movie is currently called UNTITLED COP MOVIE but Smith has spoken, via slashfilm, that it has received a new title that makes him smile…

The Movie Formerly Known as A COUPLE OF DICKS has finally settled on a (network-policy-dictated) replacement title! While we’ll always have DICKS in our hearts, the title we just now locked makes me smile on a bunch of different levels – including this 1: we can now advertise our movie properly (& ironically). And said marketing begins… on every print of SHERLOCK HOLMES, Christmas Day!

Seems like IRON MAN 2 trailer is not the only Christmas gift attached to SHERLOCK HOLMES. The reason Smith didn’t want to reveal this new title yet because it’s not his job to do so, the studio would have to announce it soon enough. Keep in mind that this is not a Kevin Smith movie, he didn’t come up with the idea or write the project, he was just hired to direct. The story was written by Robb and Marc Cullen, also starring Adam Brody, Sean William Scott, Kevin Pollack, Ana De La Reguera, Michelle Trachtenberg, Jason Lee, Jim Norton. It may not be his movie, but his gang is in it.
