For those of us who’ve been wanting for Guy Ritchie to return to doing Brit gangster movies again, well.. sorry, fellas but it just ain’t happening anytime soon because Deadline said the director of Sherlock Holmes franchise has agree do direct THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. for WB
This is the project that Steven Soderbergh exited because he and the studio could not come to an agreement over casting and budgets, and this is the same project that George Clooney dropped as well.
Scripted by Scott Z. Burns, based on the old original series, starring Robert Vaughn and David McCallum, which ran from 1964-68 on NBC, it was about the espionage adventures of Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin, agents of United Network Command for Law Enforcement (U.N.C.L.E.), who fight the forces of T.H.R.U.S.H. (Technological Hierarchy for the Removal of Undesirables and the Subjugation of Humanity).
