Angelina Jolie Replaces Charlize Theron In THE TOURIST

THE TOURIST was supposed to be a thriller remake starring Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron, directed by Bharat Nalluri (Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day) but now neither of them are going to be working on it at all.
Previously, Sam Worthington stepped up to the plate to replace Cruise and Hollywood Reporter said Angelina Jolie has signed on to play the role that Theron has left behind. A hottie replaced by another hottie, too obvious, not that I’m complaining… but someday hopefully we’ll get to hear an info that says Theron has been replaced by America Ferrera. That’d be the day.
The producers are also trying to find a new director for THE TOURIST since Nalluri has also exited the project.

I remember that time when Jolie said she was going to retire and just focus on being a mother to all her kids, whatever happened to that promise?! She probably thinks she’d better off being an actress than a stay home mom.
THE TOURIST is a remake of a 2005 French thriller titled ANTHONY ZIMMER about an American tourist who finds his life in danger when a female Interpol agent uses him as a dupe to flush out an elusive criminal with whom she once had an affair.
Jolie will basically do the type of character she’s really good at playing, one-part seductress, one-part action. She actually just got done playing something similar for another thriller titled SALT.
THE TOURIST has been described to be in the same spirit as Hitchcock’s The Man Who Knew Too Much, Polanski’s Frantic and Morel’s Taken
