Anna Faris, Bill Hader, Will Forte To Join GHOSTBUSTERS 3 Team?

Let’s insert a quick casting rumor here for this Thanksgiving day, shall we?! Last you heard about GHOSTBUSTERS 3, Sony was said to have wanted to the production to start in May 2011. Dan Aykroyd previously said he took over the script that was penned by  Year One and The Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg. So here’s to hoping that Aykroyd’s take on the story would give the ever so stubborn and reluctant Bill Murray some confidence to join the project…

As you know, the plan for GHOSTBUSTERS 3 has always been to have a new younger team, possibly including female members, that’s going to be mentored by the old team which gives room for the old cast to reprise their roles.

Featurefilmaditions said the casting process has begun to find this new younger team and that production might start early 2011 and Sony has approved the newly penned script by Aykroyd.

The website also came up with the possible current plot for this installment

A ragtag group of paranormal researchers reopen their notorious ghost removal service, and a new generation of Ghostbusters is brought on board to be green slimed and trained to contain the mischevious spirits.

Anna Faris is one of the names rumored, but What’splaying heard that Bill Hader and Will Forte are also being considered.. looks like Reitman, Aykroyd, Ramis, and the gang are going the SNL direction again and frankly, I’m all for it. Huge fan of Hader.. and after the irreverently hilarious Macgruber, I think Forte deserves a gig like this as a reward.
