I got to chat a bit with actor Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker, Real Steel) on the press day for Man On A Ledge starring Sam Worthington who starred in 2009′s blockbuster, Avatar, which as you may recall, ended up going against Mackie’s film The Hurt Locker at the Oscars that season. The best picture went to The Hurt Locker.
And so, now that Mackie and Worthington are in the same movie, I asked Mackie if on the set of Man On A Ledge, during filming, if he and Worthington joked ever around about 2009 when their movies were competing against each other and Mackie’s movie beat Worthington’s movie..

“I joked around with him a lot when we were doing the campaign, because everywhere literally, you would go somewhere and Avatar would be here and The Hurt Locker would be here.
Even at the Oscars, we were sitting here and they were sitting down there and we’re like..
And I had a lot of money bet on Avatar and so I was hoping they would win best picture and they lost.
So he was a good sport, we had a lot of fun with that ’cause it was kind of like everybody’s first experience with it. So like I said, it’s shits and giggles, we’re all here to enjoy ourselves and live the American dream.”
