AVATAR 4D… Only In Korea

I’ve said this a thousand times, that eventhough I wasn’t impressed by the story, I still admit that AVATAR is a game-changer when it comes to VFX, but if you think James Cameron‘s movie looked good in 3D,.. via Variety, the folks in Korea got on better.. 4D, I kid you not!…

It’s basically like those simulation rides at Universal Studios theme park where not only do you get to watch AVATAR with those 3D glasses but the experience is literally added.. with moving seats, sprinkling water, wind, laser lights and smells of explosives
Korea’s multiplex chain, CJ-CGV, uses more than 30 effects and charges higher ticket price which is about $15.80, while the average ticket price usually costs about $6.90
20th Century Fox Korea started 4D shows last summer in one 88-seat theater and CJ-CGV has opened three more 4D plexes to accommodate AVATAR.

I remember back at Comic-Con ’09 at the Hall H Panel with Peter Jackson and James Cameron, they were asked by the moderator if 4D would be the next step, if I’m not mistaken, they took it rather lightly, they were open to the idea but it wasn’t something that they quicly would go gung ho about.
Frankly, I think 4D experience is only fun for a 15 minute ride.. AVATAR is a 3 damn hour movie!!.. I don’t know if I want my seat to be moving too often and I’m getting sprayed by water for longer than my comfortable time.
