James Cameron and his upcoming 3D epic AVATAR was profiled this Sunday on CBS’ 60 Minutes. Wow, they even go far as channeling through a respectable show like 60 minutes to market the movie, unfreakin’believable. On the other hand, it makes sense because in a way, AVATAR will determine whether 3D remains a gimmick or becomes the future of cinema, it will make or break the technology’s prospect in filmmaking from here on out. Forget Zemeckis’ past 3D motion-capture efforts (Polar Express, Beowulf, Christmas Carol) all eyes are going to be watching and judging AVATAR.
