Awesome! A Monty Python Reunion For A Sci-Fi Farce

Do you think Hollywood should remake any of Monty Python’s classic films? Don’t get pissed off just yet, I was just wondering that’s all, I’m a Monty Python fan too and there’s nothing I want more than the original cast members to get back together, even now that they’re freakin’ old, for one more project..

Variety said Monty Python reunion is a possibility, because Michael Palin, John Cleese, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam and Eric Idle are reteaming for a sci-fi project called ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING, it’s a sci-fi farce of CG mixed with live action and Jones will be the director
Production starts this spring, all 5 Python members will voice key roles as a group of aliens who endow an earthling with the power to do absolutely anything and they’ll observe a mess he’ll make of things.

Is it just me or does that premise sound kinda like Bruce Almighty‘s plot?

ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING will also feature a talking dog named Dennis, to be voiced by Robin Williams, that understands more about the eventual mayhem than any one else does

Jones said that this project that he scripted with Gavin Scott, is not exactly a Monty Python picture but it had that sensibility, but hey I’ll take a Python reunion any day, in any format, I mean these guys haven’t been seen together since 1998.

“Terry and Gavin have crafted a classic farce — something I feel I know a little bit about after all the ‘Pink Panther’ pictures we did with Blake Edwards at United Artists,” Medavoy said. “In fact, the movie even has a pompous Frenchman reminiscent of Inspector Clouseau — but there the similarity ends. Like all projects originated by any of the Monty Python guys, ‘Absolutely Anything’ delightfully defies a logline.”

Robin Williams will also play the Frenchman, .. of course he will.
