Here he is! Kal-El’s father, overweight and smoking on the set of the new Superman movie, MAN OF STEEL. DailyMail scored these first spy photos that give you a look at Russell Crowe‘s full on costume as Jor-El. What do you think?
Obviously this is no Brando’s all white outfit anymore, Crowe’s even got his own cape. Check out a couple of more photos below..

Christopher Meloni as a military character. Harry Lennix as General Swanwick, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White.
Scripted by David S. Goyer, based on a story by Christopher Nolan and Goyer, the project will be directed by Zack Snyder and produced by Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, Deborah Snyder, exec-produced by Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull and Lloyd Phillips.
Production starts this summer in Chicago for a  June 14th, 2013 release
