Ok, the following info is freakin’ awesome! After How To Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda 2, and the upcoming PUSS IN BOOTS, I am all for anything that DreamWorks Animation produces. Bring it on!..
Deadline said DWA won the bidding and bought the screen rights to adapt CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS, based on the popular 8-volume children’s book series by Dav Pilkey
DWA has been pursuing the rights since 1997 but the author didn’t want to sell them.. until now.
Here’s to a star of a great new potential franchise..
If you’re not familiar with this character, I suggest reading it up, I think you’re gonna be a fan..
Meet George and Harold, a couple of wise guys. The only thing they enjoy more than playing practical jokes is creating their own comic books. And together they have created the greatest comic-book superhero in the history of their elementary school – CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS!
But George and Harold’s principal, mean old Mr. Krupp, doesn’t like their pranks or their comic books. And he’s cooked up a plan to catch George and Harold and stop their shenanigans – once and for all! This book is about what happened when that plan backfired, and Captain Underpants leaped off the page to save the day!
