Those of us fans of last year’s epicness, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World would remember the dude in the image above, next to Michael Cera. He’s Mark Webber who played Stephen Stills, the leader of the band Sex Bob-omb in the film. According to Risky Business, Webber is going to make his own film with the help of some of his friends and his own son…

The project is an untitled indie drama starring Webber’s 2-year old son, that will have appearances by Michael Cera, Amanda Seyfried, Shannyn Sossamon, and Jason Ritter either to co-star or cameo as “heightened versions of themselves”
Scripted and directed by Webber who also will star in the film, the story is about a struggling single father (Webber) raising his 2 year old son after the death of his wife, the child’s mother.
Budgeted well below $1 Million, the film will mirror Webber’s own life story. To give you an idea of how indie this is, Webber will be shooting the film with no crew. Yup, all he’s got as far as behind the camera folks goes are himself, a DP and a Sound Guy and he’s using Canon 5D cameras.
This is his comment..

“That’s the crux of the film,”
“After spending so much time with my son being a father, I became obsessed with the idea of showing the most authentic father-son dynamic on screen.”
“It’s been really cool and eye-opening to limit the exposure to my son but create the scenes and moments that seem realistically uncomfortable,”
“The blurring of boundaries and the overcompensation that you do with a child — how you look to them for affection when it’s not appropriate? It’s been an exercise to capture real life moments and still tell a compelling story.”

Aww.. sounds like it’s going to be one helluva heartwarming film.. could someone please pass me that tissue.
