Deadline reported that Brit beauty Charity Wakefield has joined NBC’s THE MUNSTERS now called MOCKINGBIRD LANE, starring Eddie Izzard as Grandpa, which was played by Al Lewis in the old ’60s version.
Wakefield will play Marilyn, the beautiful and only normal Munster, saved from being devoured by her own mother as a baby, Marilyn lives with the munsters but has not innherited any special attribute. She’s a college student who believes in good manners and often clashes with grandpa but gets along well with Aunt Lily and Uncle Herman…
Bryan Singer, who brought you Superman Returns, the first two X-Men movies and is bringing you JACK THE GIANT KILLER, will exec-produce and the direct the pilot episode of NBC’s THE MUNSTERS reboot series. NBC ordered from Bryan Fuller who created one of my favorite and shortlived series, Pushing Daisies
This new version of THE MUNSTERS will be darker, edgier, and less campy than the classic old black and white original half hour sitcom that aired from 1964 to 1966 on CBS
Not only that, this new take will tell about how they arrived at the famed 1313 Mockingbird Lane Address
