Charlize Theron Plays ‘Somewhat Of A Villain’ In Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS

When I was at Comic-Con, at the panel for PROMETHEUS (watch the trailer), screenwriter Damon Lindelof kept teaching Charlize Theron, who was also present, about that one naked push up footage, so I figured I’d grab that one particular screenshot for this info. As you can see in the image above, she’s not completely naked but ya never know, because what trailers promise and what the movies deliver sometimes aren’t exactly the same.
Anyways, TotalFilm got to interview Theron who explained that her character in not the hero of the story..
“I actually don’t play the heroine in it; that’s Noomi Rapace
“I play somewhat of a villain in it,”
“…She’s not a believer. She’s not a scientist. She is the red tape that everyone has to go through
She’s working with the company that’s sponsoring this whole thing and you can feel she definitely has an agenda, which we pick up in the third act. She’s more quiet thunder.”
I mean if you’re a Ridley Scott fan and you love the genre, then you’re going to be happy. You’re going to be very, very happy.”
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
PROMETHEUS opens June 8th, 2012
