Last month it was reported that James Franco, star of the upcoming OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL, has exited the project, THE ICEMAN due to key contractual disagreements that didn’t involve financial terms.
Today Deadline said Captain America a.k.a Chris Evans will replace Franco. Evans will join Michael Shannon
THE ICE MAN is about the brutal mafia hitman Richard Kuklinski, directed by Ariel Vroman, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Morgan Land..
Shannon will play Kuklinski, aka The Iceman, and Evans will play his mentor

Evans mentoring Shannon? I could see it the other way around but this should be interesting..

Vroman’s THE ICE MAN is based on Anthony Bruno’s book The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer. Here’s the synopsis..

“Richard Kuklinsky, son of a brutal, alcoholic father who came home only infrequently and a mother who vented her resentment on her children, grew up to be an efficient mass murderer. By the time of his trial in 1988 at age 53 he had killed upwards of 100 men by shooting, stabbing, choking or poisoning them. Kuklinsky, a New Jersey family man with two daughters and a son, was finally brought to justice through the efforts of Special Agent Dominick Polifrone of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, working with the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office and the New Jersey State Police.”

  1. I have nothing against Evans, but he ain’t no Franco. Maybe with this movie he delivers proof that he’s a great actor?
