CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS Sequel Is Lookin’ Good

I’m a huge fan of 2009′s Sony Pictures Animation’s adaptation of CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS. I thought the story was great, the characters were hilarious, and the whole absurdity with giant food falling from the sky was absolutely irresistible. I don’t know if a sequel would be a good idea but at this point, I’m not against it either..

Via LA TIMES, Studio is moving forward with the development of CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS 2 by hiring Horrible Bosses screenwriting team John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein to pen script
Unlike the first film, which was based on the 1970s children’s book, the sequel will be straight up original story.

The directing team Phil Lord and Chris Miller won’t be helming the sequel, so word has it the producers will hire a director who had worked in a lower profile capacity developing the story.
No word yet if the sequel would also be in 3D.
The first film took in $125 Million domestically and $118 Million internationally and the movie was so damn good, it made me hungry while I was watching it.
