Copley Says There Are Currently No Talks Of THE A-TEAM Sequel

This past summer, I was preaching THE A-TEAM, asking all of you to check out the movie not only because I was a die hard fan of the old series but because the movie was fun in every sense of the word. Sadly it flopped at the box office, only took in $77 Million domestically, which was bad, considering the budget was about $110 Million. Sharlto Copley who I thought did a fantastic portrayal of Howlin’ Mad Murdock told MTV that there’s currently no plan coming together to make THE A-TEAM sequel..
I haven’t. I haven’t. I actually feel like, as a fan of the show, I would really like to see the guys go on a mission, like they used to do — now that you’ve gone through a finding process. It would be a lot of fun to do something like that, where the guys go on one particular defined thing to help someone. Obviously, as an origin story we didn’t get to do that. We didn’t get to do what they did in the show.
Exactly! That is exactly why I want a sequel, damnit! Because the character need to be given the chance to do what the original characters did in the series,.. soldiers of fortune for hire..
Helping out communities that got bullied by either the mobsters or evil corporate folks. Today’s popular cable series like Burn Notice and Leverage practically pay tribute to The A-Team.
But it all depends on 20th Century Fox
The first installment did do fairly well over seas, banking $177 Million worldwide and let’s hope the DVD & Blu-Ray (hit the streets yesterday) sales go well enough that Fox would even consider greenlighting THE A-TEAM sequel..
The plan needs to come together again!
