I’ve never read the book THE ORIGIN OF SPECIES. Ignorant people usually would quickly claim it as Darwin’s theory that suggests man came from ape but I’ve heard bits and pieces from those who did read it and they said Darwin just theorized and didn’t actually bluntly campaign for such a concept in his writing. I don’t know which side is right at the moment but the trailer for Charles Darwin’s biopic, CREATION has hit the web, thanks to Telegraph

Paul Bettany played the legend himself, Jennifer Connelly plays the wife. Bettany and Connelly are real life couple, by the way.
It’s obvious from the previous image that Bettany looked the part but I’m not sure if this movie aims to demonize Darwin or shed some light on his misunderstood life. CREATION is based on the book ANNIE’S BOX by Randal Keynes, great, great-grandson of Charles Darwin. Described by director Jon Amiel as part ghost story, part psychological thriller, part heart-wrenching love story, the film promises a Charles Darwin as you’ve never seen him before..
at least we won’t see Charles Darwin behaving like Jack Sparrow, because that’s what we ended up getting when Guy Ritchie promised us a Sherlock Holmes like we’ve never seen him before.

CREATION has yet to have U.S. theatrical release date but it’s scheduled to open in UK theaters this September.

The film is based on the book ‘Annie’s Box:: Darwin, His Daughter, and Human Evolution’ by British conservationist and author and a great-great-grandson of Charles Darwin, Randal Keynes. It explores the relationship between Darwin and his daughter Annie whose early death deeply affected him and his views on religion.
The film portrays Darwin as a doting husband and father, torn between his love for his deeply religious wife and his own growing belief in evolutionary theory, which he would later print in his book On the Origin of the Species
