Last month, DreamWorks Studios launched a nationwide casting search for the child actor to play the character Max, in its upcoming movie REAL STEEL already starring Hugh Jackman as the dad. The studio was looking for someone between the age 10-14 years old, described as “a street-smart, tough, charming kid with a hard, untrusting outer shell which hides a warm enthusiastic spirit beneath. He is a complicated, strong-willed and resourceful boy”.. well, according to Hollywood Reporter, they’ve found their street smart tough boy.. in Dakota Goyo..

If you’ve seen the movie Resurrecting The Champ starring Josh Hartnett and Samuel L. Jackson, you’d recognize little Dakota Goyo. He is now 11 year old, he’s been doing gigs in Canadian Television as well.
REAL STEEL is about a former boxer (Jackman) who gets one last shot at the title when he teams up with his long-lost son, Max (Goyo) to train a unique robot for the upcoming Real Steel World Championship. The story is set in ain a world where the new gladiators are 2000-pound robots with human qualities. Jackman’s hopes for glory in Robot Boxing is hampered by his access to sub-standard robot parts, until he discovers a discarded robot that always seems to win
Film is being directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and produced by Don Murphy, Susan Montford and Shawn Levy. Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke, Steve Starkey, Josh McLaglen, and Mary McLaglen are all executive producing. John Gatins has written the script.
