DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS Is Scared of The INCEPTION

I don’t think any movie in July wants to go up against the latest work by the man who brought us the 2008 box office champion, The Dark Knight, I’m talkin’ about Christopher Nolan and his INCEPTION. I read not too long ago that The Sorcerer’s Apprentice director Jon Turtletaub wishes that his movie wouldn’t have to open 2 days before INCEPTION but it can’t be undone anymore.
Steve Carell and Paul Rudd‘s new comedy, on the other hand, DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS managed to run away from the competition. It was supposed to open on July 23rd, one week after INCEPTION but now Boxofficemojo said DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS has moved one week later, to July 30rd. So its competition on that opening weekend is fairly light.. the sequel, CATS & DOGS: REVENGE OF KITTY GALORE and CHARLIE ST. CLOUD starring Zac Efron.
But that doesn’t mean INCEPTION wouldn’t rule number one that weekend as well.. I’m predicting it would stay on top for a while until SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD and THE EXPENDABLES arrive in mid-August.
