Director Ben Stiller Will Climb THE MOUNTAIN Of Horror

Are you a fan of the movies that Ben Stiller has directed? Reality Bites? The Cable Guy? Zoolander? Tropic Thunder?
Deadline reported that 20th Century Fox has bought Helen Childress‘ horror spec script THE MOUNTAIN which will be a directing vehicle for Stiller who will also produce this project via his shingle, Red Hour.
Stiller and Childress previously collaborated on Reality Bites.
THE MOUNTAIN‘s story is loosely based on Edith Wharton‘s novel, SUMMER, set in the early 1900s

a young woman struggles to confront her destiny after stumbling upon a mysterious object that forces her to examine the secrets of her past

Described in the same vein as Rosemary’s Baby.
Stiller and Childress are also working on an adaptation of the children’s book, THE SNOWY DAY.
Stiller’s other upcoming directorial feature is THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY.
