Do You Agree With Weinstein’s Argument On Why BASTERDS Will Win Best Picture?

Out of all the 10 nominees for Best Picture this year, say you’re a gambling man, if you were to put your money on the 2 biggest chances, wouldn’t it be on either AVATAR or THE HURT LOCKER?! I mean, I want Pixar’s UP to win but let’s face it.. you gotta be realistic here. As much as I think INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS was the better movie, the world has been swept away by James Cameron‘s 3D epic. But Harvey Weinstein of TWC does not declare defeat because he believes, via LA TIMES, that BASTERDS is going to win the highest honor and here’s why…
“We’re going to win best picture. This is the movie people love and it’s Quentin’s time. We are going for it and we are gonna get it,”
“Look, best director may be a question — and you can quote me on that — but we won the SAG award for best ensemble, actors are the biggest branch in the academy and they love the movie.”
The website says he might be referring to the time back in 2005 when Crash caused a major upset and took home Best Picture instead of Brokeback Mountain, and keep in mind that Crash won best ensemble at SAG.
So what do you think? Will history repeat itself again? Or this is just Weinstein’s wishful thinking?
