Elizabeth Banks’ TINK Is Kinda Like Will Ferrell’s ELF

2 years ago, it was reported that Disney was developing TINK, a live action rom-com produced by Adam Shankman, Jennifer Gibgot and McG. No plot details or logline yet but the beautiful, talented and comedic Elizabeth Banks was attached to star as the mischievous Tinkerbell. The concept for the project itself was developed by Banks, Max Handelman and Matt Smith of Offspring Entertainment. The story was said to be scripted by Elizabeth Wright Shapiro and McG who brought us the incredibly disappointing Terminator Salvation.
2 years have passed and the project’s been quiet since then, so what’s up?!..

Banks told moviehole that TINK is a bit like Will Ferrell’s 2003 comedy ELF…

“It’s a live action ‘Tinker Bell’ movie sort of in the vein of ‘Elf’ in which I would play Tinker Bell,”
“Tinker Bell gets thrown out of Never Never Land, and it’s about where she goes and who she meets and the adventures she has….”
“Tinker Bell is one of the greatest characters because she’s mischievous and snarky and fun and sexy and jealous and vengeful.”

So.. when is it going to happen? when will filming start? No word on that yet, we’re back to waiting game again, meanwhile Banks is busy promoting MAN ON A LEDGE and she’ll be busy promoting THE HUNGER GAMES this spring.
