Eminem Will Commit RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE

Guess who’s back?! This past year we’ve been hearing a couple of movie projects that rapper Eminem (His awesome Recovery was last year’s biggest selling album) was circling. SOUTHPAW was one of them. Vulture now reported that Eminem is also considering to star in 20th Century Fox’s crime thriller titled RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE..
A few years ago, the script was initially mean to be some type of version of GRAND THEFT AUTO adaptation but long story short, Rockstar Games decided not to sell Fox the rights. The script was more or less much read like a video game up until 2008 when the studio hired writer/director David Von Ancken (Seraphim Falls) who rewrote the whole car thievery concept,.. it’s now more in the vein of The Town or The Departed.
The story is about.. “an ex-con smarter than his past is fresh out of prison and trying to stay legit — but his efforts are complicated by his old gang who wants him back on the job. So, too, does the FBI, which hopes he’ll wear a wire and bring down the crime syndicate. The ex-con, meanwhile, tries to play both sides against each other long enough to exact revenge against those — on both sides of the law — who sent him to prison in the first place.”
Studio’s plan is to hire another writer to polish the script some more but eventually will rehire Von Ancken to direct the film once he’s done with TV gigs.
In closing, I just wanna see Enimem back on the big screen again already! With more screen time than his hilarious cameo in Funny People. After all, the 8 Mile star remains one of the few rappers turned actors who can actually act.
