Exclusive! THE BOONDOCK SAINTS 3 Is Being Written?

I’m a big fan of the BOONDOCK SAINTS franchise. I’ve always considered the first film, The Boondock Saints in 1999, as one of those awesome cult classics in the likes of Reservoir Dogs and Equilibrium. Some thought the 2009 sequel, The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day wasn’t as strong as its predecessor as far as story and characters were concerned and I could understand that but I thought it was a movie just for the fans.
So I am looking for the third film, question is will there be a third film?! We all know that the ending to All Saints Day did feel like a set up for a possible continuation…
My fellow podcast compadre, David Lee, was at DragonCon this past weekend and met Connor MacManus himself, actor Sean Patrick Flanery who told David that THE BOONDOCK SAINTS 3 is being written. He didn’t say if writer/director/creator Troy Duffy is the one writing it and he didn’t say what the story for the third film will be about.
So until further confirmation, file this one under stuff that Flanery says.
