The Neighbor No. Thirteen

According to Hollywood Reporter, the director of the first Final Destination movie (2000) (remember that one? where’s Devon Sawa now?), James Wong is going to write and direct the remake of THE NEIGHBOR NUMBER 13 for Distant Horizon, produced and financed by Anant Singh

The original version was a disturbing Japanese film titled RINJIN 13-GO directed by Yasuo Inoue, about a young boy who experienced an abusive schoolyard bullying. The psychological effects are so disturbingly profound that 10 years later, as a young man, he is still obsessed with righting the wrong. He develops a psychopathic dual personality with a violent alter-ego and plots revenge against his upper floor neighbor no. 13.

Now keep in mind that Wong’s last movie was that lame Dragonball: Evolution. So ya, even if the concept for THE NEIGHBOR NUMBER 13 remake sounds promising, the end result will be another argument if he’s the one handling it, plus the producers are planning this to be a potential franchise, I really don’t see the reason why it needs to be.

By the way.. yes I do think school bullying should be considered a crime.
