Fox Wants Ridley Scott Instead Of Carl Rinsch For ALIEN Prequel

Once again, just a reminder, the new ALIEN Movie will be a prequel, not a reboot. Tony Scott and his brother Ridley, the director of the first movie wanted Carl Rinsch to direct ALIEN Prequel. But apparently the Playlist heard from EW that Rinsch isn’t what 20th Century Fox is looking for. The studio doesn’t want to green-light the project unless Ridley Scott returns to direct it himself.
The report also said that Rinsch is dating Ridley’s daughter, Jordan.
It’d be awesome to have Ridley back again, if Fox doesn’t want Rinsch, maybe they can try and persuade James Cameron (Aliens) to do the bidding.
But I also think Rinsch needs to be given a chance, how else would we know his true ability if he never got a shot at this. Surely he doesn’t wanna get stuck directing commercials all his life, as visually cool as his work may be (Check out an example). Besides, if it’s Scotts-approved, then that’s good enough for me. I’ve even tried to tolerate Joe Carnahan who’s directing THE A-TEAM only because the Scotts brothers are producers for that too.
