Marco.. Polo!… Marco.. Polo!… sadly the following info is not a movie project about that silly water game. It’s a about the trader/explorer Marco Polo but.. it’s not a biopic, it’s a fantasy/adventure, so expect something fun instead of heavy drama. Variety said I Am Legend director Francis Lawrence will helm the project for Warner Bros…

The pitch was bought from Adam Cooper and Bill Collage who will pen the script. It is currently untitled. They describe it as “something that takes place in the Orient of our imagination amid the cultural clash of the East and the West,”.. Cool, whatever gets those keyboards dancing. The logline itself is still kept under wraps.

I know this isn’t a biopic but just so we can familiarize ourselves with the character that the story will be loosely basing on, here’s what Wiki says about Marco Polo..
He “was a merchant from the Venetian Republic who wrote Il Milione, which introduced Europeans to Central Asia and China. He learned about trading whilst his father and uncle, Niccolò and Maffeo, travelled through Asia and met Kublai Khan. In 1269, they returned to Venice to meet Marco for the first time. The three of them embarked on an epic journey to Asia, returning after 24 years to find Venice at war with Genoa; Marco was imprisoned, and dictated his stories to a cellmate. He was released in 1299, became a wealthy merchant, married and had 3 children. He died in 1324, and was buried in San Lorenzo.”
