FRIGHT NIGHT’s First Look At David Tennant

Shocktilyoudrop has this first look shot at FRIGHT NIGHT remake, that is none other than David Tennant, doesn’t look Dr. Who anymore does he? He plays Peter Vincent. In the original, the character was a late night horror show host played by Roddy McDowall. In the remake however, Vincent will be a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery, a regular at Hard Rock, which explains that whole Chriss Angel look. FRIGHT NIGHT remake stars Colin Farrell and Toni Collette.
Sandra Vergara will play the girlfriend and assistant of David Tennant‘s character, a magician reluctantly recruited by Anton Yelchin‘s character to fight off the vampire played by Farrell. Scribe Marti Noxon of FRIGHT NIGHT remake explained that the lead vampire Jerry Dandrige, to be played by Colin Farrell is going to be more of a “‘Jaws’-like vampire in the Amblin tradition.” Noxon also said the story will be set in Las Vegas.

Farell and the brilliant Toni Collette (TV’s United States Of Tara, The Sixth Sense) will star alongside Anton Yelchin in FRIGHT NIGHT, the remake of a classic horror film FRIGHT NIGHT with Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig of Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films are producing along with Michael De Luca. Back in November, writer/producer of TV’s Mad Men, Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel, Marti Noxon was hired to write the screenplay for FRIGHT NIGHT remake which will be directed by Craig Gillespie who helmed Lars And The Real Girl . The 1985 original movie was… written and directed by Tom Holland, about a teenager who discovers that his neighbors are vampires. The new version of FRIGHT NIGHT will keep its horror/comedy tone but today’s technology will make the FX look scarier than before.

Yelchin will play the character named Charlie Brewster who’s convinced that his new neighbor is a vampire, though no one will believe him.
Collette plays Yelchin’s mom, who at first disapproves of the new arrival but changes her attitude when she meets Jerry, played by Farell, the vampire who on the surface appears to be a cool guy but is really preying on the neighborhood surprise. That role was played in the original by Chris Sarandon.
Tennant will play Peter Vincent, a Las Vegas magician whose show revolves around horror-movie imagery. He’s a self-proclaimed vampire expert but when the teens ask him for help, he’s less than helpful.
Mintz-Plasse will play Yelchin’s character’s friend, Evil Ed, “who feels slighted that Charlie has left his nerdy past behind and thus joins the vampire’s coven.”
Brit actress Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later, Solitary Man) will be playing Anton Yelchin’s girlfriend, “part of the popular crowd and unaware of his earlier life as a nerd”
