Vulture reported that General Motors is interested in collaborating with Hollywood to develop THE CANNONBALL RUN remake, based on the 1981 film starring Burt Reynolds.
GM’s deal would consist more than just product placement…
GM wants to provide the vehicles that will be featured in the new film, a way for them to introduce their 2014 car lineup.
The project is produced by Al Ruddy (The Godfather, Million Dollar Baby)
Real Steel director Shawn Levy is interested in the project and he wants to do this with his Night At The Museum star Ben Stiller. BUT.. Sherlock Holmes‘ director Guy Ritchie may be more favored for the job instead of Levy and Brad Pitt instead of Stiller.
The original film is about a wide variety of eccentric competitors participate in a wild and illegal cross-country car race.
