Via Hitfix, the director who gave us WB's most successful Batman trilogy (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises) Christopher nolan revealed that he actually was considering Heath Ledger for the role of Batman in Batman Begins, but Ledger himself turned down Nolan's offer stating that he would never be in a comic book movie. Of course, Ledger was impressed with 2005's Batman Begins that he accepted the offer to play the Joker in The Dark Knight and knocked that role out of the park, he died in 2008 but won Oscar for Best supporting actor posthumously. Here's what Nolan said recollecting Ledger..
“He didn’t like to work too much,” “He liked to do a character and then stop working and let enough time go by until he was hungry for it again. “And that’s what happened when he came in; he was really ready to do something like that.”
Do you think Heath Ledger would've played a decent Batman compared to Christian Bale?
