Helen Mirren Will Be The ‘Inner Voice’ Of A GLEE Character

I’m man enough to say that I’m a Gleek but I also admit that this latest season of GLEE, these past few episodes haven’t been the show’s strongest. It’s as if whoever new writers they have, are confused as to which character story they’d like to focus on and the result is all over the place.
So I can understand why the ratings and the show’s popularity have dropped significantly. But the producers have a secret and Oscar worthy weapon…

The great Helen Mirren will guest star in GLEE’s first 2012 episode on January 17th
But, via TVline, you won’t get to see her, you’ll only be able to hear her because turns out, her role is that of the inner voice of a character whose name is now kept under wraps for now.

So, my fellow Gleeks, do you think dame Mirren is going to be the inner voice of Rachel? or of Santana? or of Britney?

The episode will also feature an appearance by NeNe Leakes.
Mirren is apparently a big fan of the show and the fact that she once co-starred with one of the show’s recurring director, Eric Stoltz (they worked on 2007′s The Passion Of Ayn Rand) kinda helped seal the deal.
