HIGH FIDELITY Team To Reteam For THE BENGALI DETECTIVE

Director Stephen Frears and scribe D.V. DeVincentis are team behind my favorite underrated film, High Fidelity and the upcoming LAY THE FAVORITE and now Variety said they’re collaborating again to direct and write, respectively, the English language movie version of the documentary THE BENGALI DETECTIVE.
This Fox Searchlight project is based on the Phillip Cox-directed 2011 original about the chubby, dance-obsessed private-detective Rajesh Ji and his motley band of helpers tackle poisonings, adultery and the occasional murder on the frenzied streets of Kolkata.
Ever since Slumdog Millionaire, Hollywood wants more and more Indian-based story, no word yet on what Frears’ THE BENGALI DETECTIVE movie would do different in comparison to the docu.
Below, check out the trailer for the original..
