I knew it was going to happen sooner or later, when you take on so many projects like what Robert Downey Jr. does, or when you’re offered many gigs like what the lucky Robert Downey Jr. is experiencing lately, you’re bound to turn down some of them due to scheduling conflicts.
Dreamworks animated movie OOBERMIND was supposed to star the voice of Robert Downey Jr. as a supervillain who finds life a little dull after vanquishing good-guy rival Metro Man. Also already in the cast is Tina Fey.
What could be an interesting concept has now turned a bit sour because Variety says Will Ferrell is the new voice of the supervillain. Expect lots of obnoxious screaming.
But that’s not all, 2 more actors have signed on and we get to know a bit more about the plot.
Brad Pitt will voice Metro Man, the good guy that gets defeated. Oobermind find his days of victorious life quite boring without an adversary so he creates a new superhero, Titan, will be voiced by Jonah Hill, who also wants to be bad, forcing Oobermind to switch sides and become the unlikely hero. Fey, will voice the reporter tasked with keeping track of the city’s confusing superhero situation.

OOBERMIND is being directed by Tom McGrath, co-helmer of the Madagascar movies. According to previous announcement, OOBERMIND will open in theaters on November 5th 2010, in the same year as the release of 2 other Dreamworks animated features, How To Train A Dragon and Shrek Forever After. By now you should know that DWA plays by one rule, quantity over quality.
