Hitman

What did you think about the first Hitman movie? Starring Timothy Olyphant as Agent 47, directed by Xavier Gens. Did you think Timothy was the perfect choice for the role? The 2007 game based movie was made with a budget of about $39 Million, it didn’t do hot domestically but it was well received in international markets, bringing in a total worldwide of about $100 Million. Like it or not, here comes the second one. Deadline reported 20th Century Fox has hired Spanish filmmaker Daniel Benmayor to direct HITMAN 2

No word yet if Timothy would return although he’s been enjoying success with his new series Justified, I’m actually a big fan of the show, his character U.S. deputy Marshall Raylan Givens is one of the most badass lawmen in recent years, I wouldn’t mind a full length feature based on Raylan, Hollywood should work on that.
I think Timothy is an excellent actor (Live Free Or Die Hard, The Crazies) but I was one of the many who thought either Vin Diesel or Jason Statham would’ve been more suited to play Agent 47.

HITMAN 2 will be director Benmayor’s first Hollywood movie. He was known for shooting Spanish commercials for Sony Playstation, Renault, Mercedes and more. His Spanish language movie Paintball was about adrenaline junkies in the middle of a paintball match when all of a sudden someone is using real ammo. Sounds like a must-watch.

Last summer studio hired scribe Kyle Ward to work on the draft for HITMAN 2. Kyle is in charge of the screenplay for another game-based movie project KANE & LYNCH.
Adrian Askarieh, Daniel Alter and Chuck Gordon will return as producers of HITMAN 2 which will start production in the fall, and the story will include elements from HITMAN 5 the video game featuring agent 46 as a beaten man must must build himself back psychologically and physically to reclaim his reputation as world’s most feared assassin.
