Hugh Jackman Says NO To Hosting The Oscars Again. Who Do You Think Should?

Although I never could understand why he feels the need to keep doing Wolverine movie til he dies, I can understand why he has turned down the offer to host another Oscar gig. According to Variety, Hugh Jackman doesn’t want to do the job two years in a row which I think is wise decision…

Jackman is currently starring on Broadway with Daniel Craig in a play called A STEADY RAIN and after a quick vacation, he’ll prep for THE REAL STEEL which will be directed by Shawn Levy, production starts in Spring.

I’m aware there were rave reviews and praises for Jackman’s musical way of hosting the Oscar this past year. I enjoyed the elaborate stage and dance numbers, especially The Dark Knight props with his singing about how he didn’t get why the movie made millions of dollars but didn’t get nominated for Best Picture. Excellent slap across the faces of Oscar voters.
If I were to rate Jackman’s performance as an Oscar host, it’d be 4 out of 5. Great but not perfect and all because as much as I appreciate the hard work and talent put into making a successful musical, I didn’t laugh as much and I miss the effective humor and snappy jokes that only comedians like Bill Crystal, Jon Stewart, and Steve Martin could deliver when they hosted the Oscars.

But you know how it is, Hollywood love sequels, when they see it worked the first time around, they’re going to do something similar again the next time. I’m guessing this will be the direction they’re going to take since the 82nd annual Academy Awards, which will be held March 7, will be produced by Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman, the director of Hairspray.
