Comingsoon came across an info from Connecticut newspaper Valley Independent Sentinel that sated the suspense/thriller project PRISONERS to be directed by Antoine Fuqua will start shooting in Derby and Shelton starting February. John Starke, the movie’s executive director, sent a letter to Staffieri outlining the film’s plot…
“Prisoners” is about two families who live across the street from each other, according to Starks’ letter.
“These lifelong friends are thrust into turmoil when their two youngest daughters go missing. The movie centers on the family’s desperation in finding their children with the help of their neighbors and local police force; especially one police detective,” Stark wrote.

Names like Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg were previously circling this project. Jackman is already set to start in Shawn Levy‘s REAL STEEL so we’re still waiting for confirmation about his involvement in PRISONERS because at this point IMDb is not listing it as part of Jackman’s upcoming gigs.

The hot spec script was written by Aaron Guzikowski, it was initially planned to be housed at a studio but the producers decided to sell it to Alcon Entertainment. The budget is estimated about $30 – $40 Million just so they could put it on the fast-track.
