Alfonso Cuaron‘s GRAVITY had a rough start and it had a lot to do with casting process, scheduling conflict and script. Names like Angelina Jolie and Robert Downey Jr. came and went and now Sandra Bullock and George Clooney are attached to this project described as Cast Away in Space.
Here’s what we know previously.. Clooney would play a leader of a team posted at a remote space station. While he and a female colleague (Bullock) are traveling outside the space station, the other team members are decimated by debris from an exploded satellite. The female lead (Bullock) who’s also the surviving Astronaut, desperately tries to return home to Earth and her daughter, her story is what the movie will be focusing on.
Cuaron co-wrote this space thriller with his brother Jonas. The film will be shot and released in 3D
Well, that was the previous plot but WB recently released the following, via joblo, check it out and let me know what you think..

Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness.
The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left.
But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Ok, I can dig that!
I’m sure Cuaron will provide more twist and turns than to have it as straight up survival film, much like 127 Hours.

In October, it was reported that WB will team up with IMAX once again to release GRAVITY on November 21st, 2012 in IMAX 3D theaters.
