It’s Official! Ricky Gervais Is Human Lead In THE MUPPETS 2

Ricky Gervais has tweeted and confirmed that he’s set to play the human lead (Segel played the human lead in the first movie) in the upcoming untitled THE MUPPETS 2..

I have just signed up to play the lead in the next Muppet Movie. I have the biggest trailer but Kermit will spend some time in my sink.

production is set to start in January and the sequel is described as European-centric adventure which makes Gervais’ involvement reasonable. Burrell plays a lazy Interpol inspector, Gervais is said to play the lead, much like Segel was in the first movie, but the nature of his role is not yet disclosed at this point.
