David Ayer is the man who scripted Training Day, S.W.A.T., Harsh Times and he helmed Street Kings which I thought was a hardcore actioner. You can see Jake Gyllenhaal soon this year in Duncan Jones‘ sci-fi thriller, SOURCE CODE.
Variety reported that Ayer will write and direct cop drama END OF WATCH as a starring vehicle for Gyllenhaal
No plot details yet but it’s described as “a gritty drama that follows the friendship between longtime partners”

I think Jake is finding it difficult to find his feet now that he is no longer a young up and coming actor. Drama, rather than action hero or rom/com, is definitely where I think he can succeed. I’m anxious to see how Source Code pans out.
