John Malkovich Sorta Confirms He’s The Vulture In SPIDER-MAN 4

As we all know, SPIDER-MAN 4 is currently put on hold, script problem. Director Sam Raimi is not an easy man to please, not even after the story went through 3 different scribes. The fate of Peter Parker is now in the hands of scribe Alvin Sargent who penned the second and third installment. But remember the rumor about Malkovich possibly playing The Vulture and Anne Hathaway playing The Vulturess?! Well, there’s been a development so to speak…

Via badtaste.it, Malkovich talked went on an Italian soccer TV show Quelli Che il Calcio and when asked about his involvement in SPIDER-MAN 4, he didn’t deny it, but then he also confirmed that he’s waiting for the final script to be sent to him, and that the movie has been delayed while hoping that shooting will begin as soon as possible.

I guess we can that as a sign that the next villain might be the flying elderly man with a silly green suit and his Harley Quinn-esque sidekick. Maybe this is what Raimi’s been pushing to get but those 3 scribes couldn’t seem to incorporate The Vulture into the story. I don’t know man, The Vulture just doesn’t scream badass to me. I’m not gonna keep my hopes up.

According to Wiki, “The Vulture wears a costume of synthetic stretch fabric housing a tailored electromagnetic harness with bird-like wings attached beneath the arms. This consists of an electromagnetic anti-graviton generator worn on his body as a harness enabling him to fly silently with precise maneuverability. The harness also increases his resistance to injury to the point that he can survive blows from Spider-Man’s enhanced strength despite his age.”
There have been a few separate versions of The Vulture but it started with the character Adrian Toomes.

Although May 5th, 2011 release date has been deemed unlikely, Sony is still determined to stick with the timetable.
