JURASSIC PARK 4 Screenplay Is In The Works. INDIANA JONES 5 Is All Up To Lucas. Spielberg Sympathizes With Those Who Think INDIANA JONES 4 Was Crap!

JURASSIC PARK Trilogy recently hit Blu-Ray, I’m going to post my review of the packet later this weekend. For the past few years you’ve been hearing rumors of JURASSIC PARK 4. Steven Spielberg has talked about it, director Joe Johnston who helmed the third one (the one nobody liked) also talked about it on separate occasion.
But Empire recently chatted with Spielberg, who’s promoting THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN and the later on WAR HORSE this coming Holiday Season, and the legendary filmmaker gave this update on JURASSIC PARK 4..

“The screenplay is being written right now by Mark Protosevich. I’m hoping that will come out in the next couple of years. We have a good story. We have a better story for four than we had for three…”

Better story than what they had for Jurassic Park 3? That’s a good sign I guess.. well, but then again, any story is better than the story they had for Jurassic Park 3

Now,.. in regards to INDIANA JONES 5…

“You have to ask George Lucas. George is in charge of breaking the stories. He’s done it on all four movies. Whether I like the stories or not, George has broken all the stories,”
“He is working on Indy V. We haven’t gone to screenplay yet, but he’s working on the story. I’ll leave it to George to come up with a good story.”

Spielberg admitted that he wasn’t a big fan of the object that drove the story forward in Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull but he had to stick by his friend Lucas.

“I sympathise with people who didn’t like the MacGuffin because I never liked the MacGuffin, he explained. “George and I had big arguments about the MacGuffin. I didn’t want these things to be either aliens or inter-dimensional beings. But I am loyal to my best friend. When he writes a story he believes in – even if I don’t believe in it – I’m going to shoot the movie the way George envisaged it.”

I knew it! Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull was Lucas’ fault. Those CG gophers, that nuke the fridge ridiculousness, Labeouf’s freakin’ character, Mutt and that whole alien stuff… what a joke! The whole film was a joke.
I’m a big Indiana Jones fan and that movie made me upset. I’m still upset about it.
