Kathleen Kennedy Won’t Be Involved With JURASSIC PARK IV. She’ll Focus On The New STAR WARS Movies

Jurassic Park

As you know, Universal has set June 13, 2014 for the 3D theatrical release date for JURASSIC PARK IV, no screenwriter nor director has been hired yet at this point.
But here’s one thing for sure, Steven Spielberg’s long-time collaborator, producer Kathleen Kennedy won’t return for JURASSIC PARK IV. Kathleen’s husband, producer Frank Marshall tweeted the following..

“Ms. Kennedy has moved onto Star Wars and will not be producing JP4. She’s traded raptors for TIE fighters.”

Kathleen Kennedy is now Lucasfilm’s head honcho and will be busy with Disney developing STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, scripted by Michael Arndt, to be directed by J.J. Abrams, not to mention those other STAR WARS spin-off/stand alones, plus EPISODE VIII and IX, so ya, Kathleen will be busy all right!
Steven Spielberg will only be involved with JURASSIC PARK IV in producing capacity, it’d be interesting to see who they’ll hire as the director. More interesting is what new dinosaurs will be featured in this fourth installment.
I don’t know if I’m 100% stoked yet about JURASSIC PARK IV but I’m going to keep an open mind about it.

If the films go back to Isla Nublar to see how it’s changed since it was abandoned that would be interesting. After all, the films never explained what happend to it after they left. If you read the book it’s clear why Site B was important (spoilers) ….. because the Costa Rican government blew Isla Nublar to high heaven. So thats the direction I would like them to take. There is also a series of Topps comics that follow what happens to the raptors after the first film and how they escape the island and adapt to the modern world.
