I interviewed director Ti West a couple of weeks ago and he told me that even though he loved shooting his films on film as opposed to digital because to him it just looks better but he said that it’s getting harder and harder to make that argument now.
After the jump is the trailer for Christopher Kenneally-directed Docu Feature called SIDE BY SIDE starring Keanu Reeves chatting with such filmmaker as Martin Scorsese, Steven Soderbergh, George Lucas, James Cameron, David Lynch, Christopher Nolan about the digital revolution in filmmaking, and of course 3D..

So.. What Did You Think About TRON: LEGACY? Dec 17, 2010

I do not believe that film is dead, but it will just become a part of the movie making industry rather than the whole of the industry. Film forced you to learn every aspect of the process while digital allows you to skip some steps and even as a digital movie maker I am not ready to say that this is a good thing yet. There are so many who have rushed into digital film making without bothering to learn the basics of lighting or story telling.
