Krasinski Is NOT The Frontrunner. One Of These Actors Will Get To Play CAPTAIN AMERICA In 9 Movies!

And just like the the info from Fox411 got scrapped today, turns out TV’s The Office star John Krasinski is NOT the studio’s top favorite to play Steve Rogers in the upcoming live action Marvel movie THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA, directed by Joe Johnston. But one of these 4 lucky contenders might get the coveted role…

According to Heat Vision and Deadline New York, Marvel is still looking for their CAPTAIN AMERICA, it hasn’t come down to one particular actor yet… but here are the 4 so far..

Wilson Bethel (HBO’s Generation Kill, The Young and the Restless)

Mike Vogel (Cloverfield)

Chris Evans (Fantastic Four movies)

Garrett Hedlund (TRON LEGACY) has not screen tested yet but Marvel is still eyeing him

The actors from the original 6 or 7 who tried out but will no longer be in this competition are Chace Crawford (CW’s Gossip Girl), John Krasinski (NBC’s The Office), Scott Porter (NBC’s Friday Night Lights), Michael Cassidy (CW’s Privileged) or Patrick Flueger (Brothers). I guess all these TV actors are just dying to get out of the small screen world.
Whoever Marvel chooses to carry the Shield will have to stick around for a long time as CAPTAIN AMERICA because the deal includes 9 movies!!! The 2nd movie will be THE AVENGERS.
