Lane Garrison’s ONE HEART Redemption

Lane Garrison

From TV’s Prison, to 8 real world prisons, to a life completely changed, or so it seems. Actor Lane Garrison, most famously known as Tweener from Prison Break series was thrown to prison a couple of years ago for vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving for a crash that killed a passenger in his Land Rover. Garrison is now released, a free man, and claims to have turned his life around so much so that he wants to make a movie about a story he heard from people he talked to behind bars…

According to Hollywood Reporter, Garrison is currently writing the screenplay for ONE HEART that chronicles the true story about troubled teens and the redemptive power of football experienced by the Gainesville (Texas) State School football team, a.k.a The Tornadoes that were made up of kids convicted of crimes involving drugs, violence and robbery.
After a 2008 season in which they lost every game and were outscored 300-14, the Tornadoes went on the road to play Faith Christian School, whose coach mobilized his community so that the town cheered not for his Faith Lions but for Gainesville. The Tornadoes still lost, but it wasn’t a wipeout. And for the first time, the players felt like a team and not the sum total of their crimes.

Producers are banking on the success of the recent hit The Blind Side which beat New Moon at the box office in its third weekend and also tells a story about the Christians’ compassion and football.
They are talking to Dallas Cowboys players and coaches, asking for their involvement as either investors or promotional partners but they have officially secured permission to shoot in the locations in which the events took place.
Garrison played high school football in Dallas and he’s served time in prison, so there’s no better man for the ONE HEART job than him. The report doesn’t say if he’s going to star as well but I wouldn’t be surprised that this could be his big comeback as an actor.
