Leo DiCaprio Has Decided Not To Do That Viking Movie With Mel Gibson.. Damnit!

Mel, Mel, Mel.. what are we gonna do with you huh?! We thought you’ve sobered up and learned your lesson from 2006 but then you just had to go yelling, slurring racist remarks and verbally abusing your girlfriend on the phone. Damnit, Mel! You were once great, respected, I even thought Edge Of Darkness was a strong comeback but now even Leo DiCaprio has lost his faith in you..

According to Radicalonline, a source close to Leo said that the Inception star has decided to withdraw his name from that Viking movie that was supposed directed by Mel Gibson.
What a shame.. major shame! It had all the perfect ingredients..they had it all planned out
Mel Gibson was going to direct an untitled period drama set in the ancient, violent, Viking world, starring Leonardo DiCaprio with the great scribe William Monahan (The Departed, Edge Of Darkness) writing the script. .
DiCaprio has been a longtime fan of Vikings, he openly expressed his excitement over this project because he thought there hasn’t been a great and fair Viking portrayal.
For a full circle, it was going to be produced by Oscar winning producer Graham King. He worked with DiCaprio and Monahan for The Departed and he worked with Gibson and Monahan for Edge Of Darkness. These are caliber, quality names able to deliver caliber quality films. Shooting was supposed to start in fall 2010, they were gonna make this film outside the studio system and secure distribution later.

It’s all just a dream now.. an epic dream that I fear will never happen.. and we can blame Mel’s relapse for that. Many believe Mel’s career will never recover from this scandal.
