PARKER, starring Jason Statham, Clifton Collins, Jr., Wendell Pierce, and Jennifer Lopez, directed by Taylor Hackford (Ray, Love Ranch) for Sierra/Affinity, Incentive Filmed Entertainment and Sidney Kimmel Entertainment.
Scripted by John J. McLaughlin, who co-penned Black Swan.
This action adaptation is based on a book series by author Donald Westlake, about “a thief who, though at times is forced to be a killer, still lives by a code of honor that includes never stealing money from people who need it. His word is his bond, and if he is crossed he will strike back relentlessly”
This will mark Hackford’s first genre film. Statham’s character, Parker, was previously played by Mel Gibson in Payback and Lee Marvin in Point Blank. Lopez plays Leslie who gets involved with Parker and his heist.
